New Patients

The First Visit

On your first visit to our office, you will be warmly welcomed by our front desk Chiropractic Assistant. You will then be asked to fill out our required forms, which will help us to learn about you and the reason for your visit.

Dr. Marr will then talk with you and ask you some specific questions regarding the reason for your visit, to determine if chiropractic care may be of benefit to you.

After your consultation with Dr. Marr, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard orthopedic, neurological, postural and physical examinations. The doctor will gain valuable information regarding your condition, so that he has a better understanding of how chiropractic can specifically help you.

After your examination, Dr. Marr will then take x-rays of the affected areas of your spine.  X-rays are taken on all of our patients (except for pregnant women and very young children), to get a full evaluation. The x-rays will help reveal any structural or functional problems you may have. They will also help identify areas of spinal malfunction and resulting nervous system deficits. Dr. Marr will measure the misalignment's of your spine (down to a millimeter) on the x-rays that are taken. 

If your condition allows, while your x-rays are being developed and analyzed, you will be able to relax on our HydroMassage table.  You will experience total relaxation while remaining fully clothed, dry and comfortably supported, as you are massaged by powerful waves of heated water.  You are in complete control of your massage, so you can target the areas where you need it most.

After your x-rays are developed and analyzed, Dr. Marr will show you the x-rays and go over his findings with you in detail. He will also discuss the steps necessary to help your current condition and to help you reach your health care goals. Dr. Marr will then explain to you the proposed treatment schedule and the reasons behind our approach to treating your condition.

Appointments

The most important part of your care is your adjustment. Each visit builds on the one before, so missing a visit can impair the results we would expect from you.

Dr. Marr will suggest a series of appointments in relation to your care. For optimum results, please follow this treatment plan as closely as possible. If you find that you must cancel or reschedule one of your appointments, simply let us know. We just ask that you give us as much advance notice as possible, to enable another patient to be seen. 

You may be tempted to stop your care when you start to feel better. DON'T. This will predispose you to a relapse, because supporting muscles and ligaments won't be fully healed. That happens gradually, with continued care, AFTER symptoms go away. Please feel free to discuss any questions or concerns, regarding your treatment, with Dr. Marr.

Insurance/Financial Information

We accept all insurance coverage, with chiropractic benefits. Our Chiropractic Assistant can help determine if your insurance covers chiropractic, at our office.  We also accept Visa, MasterCard, cash and personal checks or debit cards.

Payment is due at the time of service, unless other arrangements have been made.

Dr. Marr bases his recommendations on a deep desire to see you get well and stay well. He will suggest the chiropractic care that is right for you. This may be at odds with the limitations on your insurance policy. Many people assume that because they have insurance, all of their care is covered, when in reality it is likely to help with only a portion of the care Dr. Marr recommends. We will work together with you, to make sure you get the care you need, no matter what the situation.
